1. Final Project
We were tasked to take a story from any category of mythology and create a graphic piece showcasing the story through different elements. I chose the Greek story of Medusa as it has a deeper meaning and many elements that would be visually interesting.
I took the textures of snakeskin and cracked stone which I placed over a sketch of Medusa I made (drawn on my iPad using Procreate). I then put that into the shape of a snake and added two opposing male warrior statures for the snake to emerge from. For text I simply placed the question of being born evil or made evil as Medusa did not begin as a villain.
Here is the final outcome.

2. Designer Presentation
This task was to put together a strong graphic presentation on one of our favourite designers.
I choose Morag Myerscough as I love how my colour and fun she has with her designs and the powerful meanings behind each piece she creates. I made the presentation to fit her style and create a clean and sleek layout with minimal text so keep focus on the images.
3. Object Versions
For this task we had to take an interesting object we had to hand and use Photoshop and Illustrator to create variations of the object. I chose to use my Dr Marten boots for this task as I was wearing them at the time and they're were favourite shoes.
I played around with colour and negatives, patterns, composition, warping, distortion and transparency. This was a fun task and allowed me to explore all the different possibilities of editing an image on Photoshop and Illustrator. I also had fun sketching over my boot in Procreate and playing around with line work.

4. Image Story
We were tasked to tell a personal story through image, style and composition using Photoshop/Illustrator.
I was feeling a bit homesick at the time so decided to tell the story of me and my closest friend who I had known since childhood. I chose to create a piece with two very different styles of realism and cartoon showing our different outlooks on life. I used images of us as kids and adults facing away from each as we grew apart at university. I then put us hugging together to symbolise our reconnection during the covid lockdown when we re-bonded over Starbucks drive-thru dates together in my car. I used a outdoor background as we loved going on walks and photoshoots up Kinnoull Hill.
